Hi Kerry
Yes we are interested, we will be in touch for the details. We are, co-incidentally, already looking at another sailing adventure in the Portsmouth area so there may be a good opportunity to link our plans.
Neil
We are running an activities for dementia event in Portsmouth on 12th January 2012. We will be encouraging anybody with a service provided for people with dementia or resources to set up ‘stalls’. Please let me known if you are interested
Dear Neil and Lucy,
Thank you for your inspiring vision and for having the courage and determination to change what people think and feel is possible for people who are living with dementia. The sailing trip offers a metaphor for a more uplifting and connected voyage through dementia with relationships, participation and access to nature offering a way of being that is enriching for all. There is no doubt that the dementia journey is very traumatic but helping us all to see John and Alan as sailors not sufferers gives us a glimpse of a new way of responding which begins with acceptance and hope.
Imagine this schema being applied to the care that is given to people with dementia in residential environments – looking out not in.
Knowing you both as I do, I urge others who are new to the world of Dementia Adventure to throw yourselves in to invest time, take part, help and support – you will not regret it!
With warmest appreciation

Hi Ed – thanks for the infographic which we really liked. Maybe you and some other staff from Maria Mallaband would be interested in attending our “Thinking Differently about Dementia in Essex” event on May 20th?
What an inspiring contribution you are making.
Big warm wishes to you both and for this work and those who will benefit
Congratulations, with love Joy
My name is Ed and I am currently working on behalf of Maria Mallaband, a leading provider of care homes. Maria Mallaband are currently promoting an infographic, detailing the facts about dementia: http://www.mmcgcarehomes.co.uk/blog/post/2011/03/28/Dementia-The-Facts.aspx
Many people don’t know very much about dementia and I think this infographic would help people to understand a bit more about it.
Thanks Lori – connections have come across the pond since your listing, nice to connect with people in the USA and beyond our shores generally
Keep up the good work
Neil

Hi Neil and Lucy,
delighted to hear of your dementia adventure, you will be meeting a real need for so many people. Life should not stop when you or your partner are diagnosed with dementia. Especially the enjoyment of nature, it should be encouraged and this is what is so exciting about Demenita Adventure, the message is positive, you are enabling this to be possible, to give the message of hope and enjoyment in life for people who have dementia . Please carry on the good work, and where we can we will spread the good word.
Well done Neil and Lucy
